Here at FORT, we have our very own paint tinting & mixing service. If you’re looking for a specific colour to be made up, be sure that the team here can do their very best to supply you with it. Our mixing machine can mix up thousands of colours and can be made in house, come visit us at our Merchants store in Membury, Lambourn Woodlands. Our team will be on hand to take your order and assist you with the exact paint that you need.
FORT can match colours from various brands such as Farrow & Ball, Johnstone’s & Dulux. With a range of finishes available from Vinyl Matt, Durable Eggshell to Silk & Satin. One of the main benefits of using our paint tinting/mixing service is the ability to create custom colours, if you’re looking for a specific shade of blue or simply want to try and match an existing colour on your furniture – rest assured that with this service we will try our best to match it with what you are looking for.
Whether you’re painting your new home or simply just looking to refresh the walls, it’s always good to keep colours matching with objects already in the area. With darker coloured furniture, a dark green or blue will compliment it well whereas with lighter colours you’ll see a better match with beige or crisp whites. Colour charts are available in our shop, speak to one of our amazing team members for more information. Using one against existing colours in the room can help you to decide what best suits. Usually, colour codes will be shown on the colour charts therefore once you have chosen your desired colour, speak to our team for us to begin our paint tinting & mixing service.
So, what are the steps that the FORT team take to get the colour you are looking for?
There are many colours to choose from, once a selection has been made, pass on the colour codes for us to begin the mixing & tinting service. The code is entered into the computer system and ready for mixing. Once the tub is ready, it’s placed within the tinting machine for the correct colours to be dropped. This machine pushes the tints needed out of cylinders, pouring them out of an opening and into the paint tub below. Now that the tints are in the tub, the final step is to mix. We place the filled tub of paint into our mixing machine, close the safety door and once a thorough shake is complete the paint is ready to be used.
